More About This Painting:

First Snow is one of the abstract paintings created for the Passion-Color-Joy painting challenge in September 2017.  It’s also a companion painting to Winter Solstice as they were created at the same time.

During the challenge, I tried to use many different color palettes and experiment with different textures. Winter Solstice features metallic pale blues & a metallic cream color but with the additions of pale purple & texture. For this painting I used only the metallic pale blue and cream against white.

When this painting dried it reminded me of winter, much like it’s companion. The title First Snow really seemed fitting. This was one of the first paintings to be matted before framing.  The frame, unlike most of my paintings, does come with glass to protect the mat.

If you dislike my choice of frame, I am happy to remove the painting from the frame & mat. I deduct the cost from the selling price so be sure to contact me before purchase so I can reduce the price. I can also change the hanging orientation if you wish it to hang differently.  Just let me know before purchase & I’ll make the switch.
