Color Flow was made using latex paint, flow medium, acrylic paint, and polyurethane on canvas board.  It comes framed without glass.

The Story:

Color Flow was created using latex paint mixed with a flow medium….to make it flow better.  After pouring the various colors onto the canvas board randomly, I ran an oversize comb horizontally through the paint.  This created the lines that you see.  Then I tipped the canvas board a variety of ways to let gravity push the paint around.  I then added a bit of acrylic paint, in white and magenta, in various places & let it flow over and into some of the more bare areas.

When you pour latex paint like this, it tends to bubble a bit when it dries.  Because I used a flow enhancer, the bubbling effect was minimal but still present.  Latex paint is much thicker than acrylic so it doesn’t lay flat, so to speak.  There are many ridges and bumps through the canvas.  Because of this effect, I removed the glass from the frame.
