The Day of the Dead is a celebration of loved one who have passed on. The holiday has an amazing aesthetic featuring brightly colored skulls, flowers, friends, family, and good food & drink. Many of the tiny pieces here were made to mimic the sugar skulls common to the holiday. The plastic skulls were painted with either acrylic paints or spray paints and decorated using paint markers and/or Sharpie markers. They were mounted onto tiny canvases for easy display.
The Tiny Day of the Dead Archive shows some of the work that I’ve sold over the years. These small works are perfect for small spaces, gaps in collage style art displays, and your office cubicle. While I’ve had fun creating these works, the theme finally ran its course in 2016. The Tiny Day of the Dead Archive will remain here to inspire visitors for years to come.
Curious about how a piece was made? Want to know where I found a particular material? Please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m more than happy to help you recreate any of the pieces here.
