More About This Painting:

The Undine Nebula was the first painting in the Intergalactic Series that I finished in 2018. Once I realized I had been creating art in the space theme, I really wanted to explore it more. Rather than just do pour paintings with a vague theme, I decided I really wanted to punctuate the theme with hand painted embellishments.

Both It’s Full of Stars & this painting are massive canvases for pour paintings.  This one is just a tad larger than It’s Full of Stars and both were challenges.  When I was done pouring I honestly thought this painting would need to be scrapped since it wasn’t turning out the way I wanted to.  When it dried, I realized it was far better than I thought.

It’s not obvious from the pictures but I did use some metallic teal paint in the mix. It gives the painting a really subtle depth.  There’s also an under-layer of texture that I had done in hopes of having it affect the pour. It didn’t but the splash effect underneath is still interesting.

I hope you enjoy the series.  It will be an ongoing series rather than one that has a set number of paintings.  Check back periodically for more!
