More About This Painting:
After the Storm is an abstract flow painting. It was one of the 30 paintings produced for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge in September 2017.
For this painting I wanted to try more of the swipe technique but with a different rainbow palette. I chose soft pastels colors. I created this along side Rainbow Sorbet. To differentiate them a bit more, I dripped some black paint in various areas before I swiped the white paint down the canvas board.
The title comes from the black paint more than the rainbow color palette. It reminded me of dark storm clouds still remaining after a rainstorm has ended. That small addition is what separates this one from it’s companion Rainbow Sorbet. I also flipped the painting so the white would be at the bottom when hung. This can be changed upon request, free of charge.
This piece comes framed without glass. I’m not a fan of glass over this type of work as the reflective nature of glass tends to obscure the details of paintings like this unless you’re at the perfect viewing angle. The frame can be removed, and cost deducted, if you’re not a fan of my choice.
