This little paintings are really tiny! They range in size from 2″ x 2″ to 3″ x 3″. These can be hung like normal artwork, each has a sawtooth hanger on the back. They are great additions to picture walls, cubicles, or any awkward small space.
Mini Paintings are amazingly versatile!
- If you hang photos or other artwork “salon style” (like a collage), tiny art is perfect for filling odd gaps.
- Hanging several small works along one side of a larger work can add more visual interest to a space and complement the larger work (I did this in my living room).
- Do you work in a cubicle or small office? A mini painting goes a long way to making a cubicle less dull.
- I would be happy to attach a magnet to the back so you could even hang them on your fridge!
I began making these little pieces for an art show called, appropriately enough, “Baby Canvases.” The canvases in the original show were all 2″ x 3.” I think I bought around 20 canvases. I then spent a lot of time staring at them trying to figure out what I could so with something so tiny. Once I stopped focusing on the size of the canvases, ideas just started to flow.
Check out the previous works link to see some of the tiny work that I’ve created over the years. Sadly some pictures went missing or were just bad so I can’t show the whole catalog.
