The Story:
Organic is an abstract painting that is part 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge I did in September 2017. During the challenge I experimented a lot with color palettes. It had been a while since I worked with green so that was my goal in this piece.
To create this painting I used not just a basic lush green but also a lime green, teal, and white. I had learned from my other work that adding a much darker color really adds nice contrasting elements. In keeping with the earthy feel, I added brown rather than black.
This painting is the first piece I have offered matted and framed. I tend to avoid mats as they basically force you to put the piece behind glass. I find glass annoyingly reflective personally so even with flat pieces I remove it. When it came time to frame this one I realized I didn’t have any light colored frames on hand small enough but I did have this 8″ x 10″ frame. The mat looked so good I couldn’t resist, glass and all.
